A new addition to the Moo Selfie series includes a White Park Cow in front of the Quayside at Wareham in Dorset. This painting was completed for Purbeck Arts Week 2017 but was sold before I managed to display it at the exhibition at Rollington Barn. It is a perfect contender for my Mugs and prints so watch this space. |
Wareham is one of my favourite towns and also the hometown of The Purbeck Artisan Yard where "Moo HQ" is located. The quayside sites quietly beside the river Frome and is often populated by small craft, yachts and pleasure cruisers bringing tourists and sightseers from Poole. The view also depicts two lovely pubs in Wareham, the Quay Inn and The Old Granary, (I can recommend for a glass of Badger Beer).
The White Park Cow is a regular sight on the Grassy flood plains which stretch across to Stobourough and another excellent Purbeck Pub, The Kings Arms. The farmers tend the herds and it's a pleasure to drive toward Wareham along the causeway, a view that inspired this Oil Painting.
